Fulham Football Club becomes a Michael Jackson club
You previously read about it here. Now Al-Fayed has kept his promise by installing a Michael Jackson statue at Fulham Football Club. Although some of the club’s fans are not happy. They say Michael Jackson has nothing to do with football or Fulham. But others have welcomed the installation.
In any case, Al-Fayed is the club’s manager and owner, and his vote is the vote that counts. He is a friend and longtime supporter of Michael Jackson, and installing this statue is not only a tribute to their long-standing friendship, but also a commemoration of a great legend. Yesterday, at Fulham’s grounds by the River Thames in London, the statue was unveiled during a ceremony. The statue was originally supposed to be installed in front of Harrods’ big store, but Al-Fayed sold Harrods, and that’s how the statue ended up at Fulham.
Al-Fayed has said that Michael was interested in watching all of this team’s matches.
“A few years ago Michael came to Harrods, and I asked him if he would like to watch the match with me. He agreed, and I remember how excited he was when he sat next to me in the stands. Al-Fayed is an Egyptian businessman and investor, 78 years old. He is the father of Dodi Al-Fayed, the close friend of Princess Diana, who was a member of the British royal family. Dodi and Diana, in 1997, were killed in a car crash while fleeing from pesky photographers who were chasing them. Michael also had a friendship and acquaintance with Princess Diana.
