New developments in Michael Jackson’s murder case

Conrad Murray’s lawyers, the doctor accused of involuntary manslaughter of the Pop King, want to speak with many witnesses the prosecution will bring before the trial begins. Yesterday, in a hearing, Murray’s attorney Michael Flanagan said he wants to speak with 35 witnesses. All members of Michael’s security team at the building where he died are among these witnesses. Meanwhile, yesterday the lawyers of three key witnesses in this case were present: Dr. Arnold Klein, Michael’s former manager, Tom Tom, and Randy Phillips, CEO of the concert promoter AEG. They asked the judge to ignore the claim by Conrad Murray’s lawyers that their clients have information relevant to Michael Jackson’s death. Murray’s lawyers want to know exactly what medications Dr. Klein prescribed to Michael in the months before his death. TMZ had reported that Klein administered Demerol injections to him 51 times during the three months leading up to Michael’s death. Murray’s lawyers say Demerol was the cause of Michael’s death. This is while the coroner has officially stated that propofol was the cause of Michael’s death. They found a dangerous combination of several sedative drugs in him, and Demerol was not among them. Also yesterday, Murray’s lawyers requested fingerprint analysis on a broken syringe found under the bed where Michael died. They say Michael’s fingerprints on this syringe could prove that he killed himself. The lawyers say Murray insists that the syringe was not broken. They claim that when Murray left the room, Michael used this syringe to inject himself with a large amount of propofol. The lawyers say only two people were in that room, and if Murray did not break the syringe, then it must have been Michael’s doing. They have asked the FBI to perform fingerprinting on the syringe.
