Brandy Was Left Speechless After Seeing Michael Jackson

Brandy, an American Black R&B singer, told MTV on the show “When I Was 17” that in her first meeting with the King of Pop, she fainted.

“When I was 17, my producer, Rodney Jerkins, was working with Michael Jackson (2001, Invincible). He knew how much I was dreaming of meeting Michael Jackson. So one day he said, ‘Do you want to come with me and see him?’ I said, ‘Are you kidding! Of course I want to see Michael Jackson.’

Rodney Jerkins arranged the meeting, and Brandy—along with her brother, Ray J—had the courage and walked into Michael’s recording studio. Of course, Brandy didn’t feel very well.

“My heart was pounding so hard. I was saying, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m going to see him!’... We had to go into the room and he was there.”

Brandy’s brother says: “When we walked into the studio, Michael was standing in the corner. We looked at each other and said, ‘Did you see him?’...”

But unfortunately, Brandy couldn’t keep her composure.

Ray J: “Michael Jackson was right there in front of our eyes, and Brandy said, ‘Oh my God, Michael!’ and then she fainted.”

Brandy: “I blacked out—I really fainted.”
