Miley Cyrus’ Father and His Memory of Michael Jackson

Billy Ray Cyrus, a local singer and Miley Cyrus’ father, revealed in his interview with GQ magazine his decision to contact Michael Jackson. Unfortunately, before he got the chance to meet him, Michael passed away. Having once seen Michael at a Grammy Awards ceremony, he says the King of Pop sparked his curiosity in a big way: “He was sitting in the front row, ahead of me. Suddenly a 10-cent coin slipped and landed on my boot. I bent down and picked it up. He was looking for it in his pocket. I told him, ‘Are you looking for this?’ He thanked me, took the coin, and put it in his pocket. I looked at my manager and asked, ‘Why does Michael Jackson have a 10-cent coin?’ Nobody could answer me.” Cyrus had hoped to invite Michael and his children to the recording stage of “Hannah Montana,” but he couldn’t plan it before Michael’s death.
