Katherine Jackson’s lawsuit: Kenny Ortega’s name struck out
Some time ago, Catherine Jackson, Michael’s mother, in a lawsuit she filed against the company that organized her son’s London concerts—accusing them of negligence in caring for her child’s health—had also sued Kenny Ortega, Michael’s longtime friend and colleague, as well as the director of the concert and film “This Is It,” alongside Conrad Murray, the doctor accused of murder.
Recently, as the murder case against the King of Pop continued and preliminary hearings were held, Kenny Ortega asked the judge to remove his name from the list of readers in Catherine’s lawsuit.
Now, news has come that the judge approved his request, and the Jackson family has apologized to Kenny Ortega.
Kenneth Boyle, Catherine’s lawyer, said: “Given the facts recently revealed about this case, the Jackson family knows that Kenny Ortega had no role in Michael’s death. The Jackson family would like to apologize for any confusion and distress that resulted from this action being directed at Mr. Ortega.”
