Girlfriend of Dr. Murray speaks

Syd Ending, one of the girlfriends of the doctor accused of murdering the King of Pop who had also testified in court last month, appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” program in an interview. On June 25, she was on the phone with Dr. Murray when she suddenly realized something unpleasant was happening on the other end of the line—Dr. Murray was no longer answering, because he had realized how serious his patient’s condition was. Ending said that from that moment she understood that whatever was happening on the other end was also partly her responsibility, and her prediction came true when police officers came to question her a week after the incident. Murray panicked and asked Ending not to tell the police anything. She was asking Murray by phone about what was happening, and Murray prevented her from talking about it because he believed “phones can be monitored.”

Ending regrets that day when she was speaking with Murray. She thinks that if Murray hadn’t called her, Michael would have stayed alive. On June 25, she had left Michael—who was unconscious and needed constant care—alone so she could answer his calls. Michael not breathing caught Murray’s attention and caused their conversation with Ending to remain unfinished.

In addition, Ending is angry about Dr. Murray’s lies: “He told me he had two children, while he has seven.” She also thought Murray was single, and she was shocked when, during this same interview, she learned from ABC news that he was married.

In this case, the prosecutor described Murray as a spendthrift and party-loving man who supports his wife, his seven children, and multiple girlfriends financially. He was receiving a $150,000 salary as Michael Jackson’s doctor.

Living in Houston, Ending said: “He was happy to be chosen for such an important role. He told me that if he could, he would arrange for me to fly there (Los Angeles) and meet Michael and his children.”

Ending worked at a bar where she met Murray.

“The first thing he told me was, ‘You’re more beautiful than the kind of place where you serve people.’ In my opinion, he seemed like a very good and kind man.”

Murray left hundreds of dollars in tips on the table for her, and he would give her gifts like a cell phone, shirts, and more. Murray’s spending on her reached about $2,000. However, Ending says Murray never told her anything about the service he was providing for Michael. She is willing to appear as a witness in the next court hearing if needed.
