Teddy Riley and Frank Dileo Officially Confirm the Song

Some fans don’t believe the voice heard in Breaking News belongs to Michael Jackson, while others believe it is his. On the other hand, music industry experts and sound producers confirm it. Sony has also announced that, to prove this claim, it hired voice recognition specialists so no doubts would remain. A representative from Epic Records, the label releasing the song, says that not only did Michael collaborate on writing it, but he also co-produced it—along with Eddie Cassio and James Porte (Bobby Owings). Recently, an instrumental-free version of Breaking News has also appeared online to show that the singer is Michael Jackson. In this regard, yesterday Teddy Riley—the producer of the song, and Michael’s friend and longtime collaborator—sent statements to the Associated Press: Teddy Riley: "When I heard these songs, my heart cried with joy at hearing Michael’s lively voice again. His vocals have been polished, tuned, and solidified. I have no doubt that these are his vocals. I did what Michael expected me to do with my tools and his vocals. This is his legacy. He collaborated with Michael on albums such as Dangerous, History, and Invincible, as well as other projects. Frank Dileo, Michael Jackson’s longtime manager who resumed working with Michael again for the This Is It concerts in 2009, also guaranteed the song’s authenticity and says: "When Michael was busy recording with them in Eddie Cassio’s home studio, I spoke with him on the phone several times. He was very excited and eager about the music and the work he was experiencing.
