Breaking News Radio Airplay

Breaking News, the first song from the new album of the King of Pop titled «Michael», was played on 151 radio stations as soon as it was released on Monday on michaeljackson.com. The range of stations that aired the song includes pop, R&B, and hip-hop, as well as adult contemporary, rock, and oldies. On its first day, the song was played 246 times and had 2.2 million listeners. The song has received different reactions. Trey Thomas, director of the Taxi Productions radio show, says: "I don’t think this song is hot. I think it’s an emerging song. People miss Jackson, but (for this song) competing with his old songs and legacy is hard." Some listeners said they believe the song is still unfinished and that it doesn’t have the perfectionism always present in the King of Pop’s work. Many listeners have been using their desire to hear the rest of the songs and have said they’re eager to know what other songs are on the «Michael» album. The album will be in stores on December 14.
