Roger Friedman: Michael Jackson’s Album in Limbo

Roger Friedman, regarding Michael Jackson’s new album that has been promised for the end of this year, has emphasized that the songs made in collaboration with Eddie Casio in 2007—as well as unreleased tracks from the Invincible album in 2001—will be included on the new album.

Friedman says the album’s production team has not made any kind of invitation to the recording engineer of the Trailer and Bad album, namely Bruce Swedien, to collaborate. Friedman believes that in Swedien’s personal archive there are songs from the Trailer and Bad era that could have been released on the new album.

More details about this album are not yet available. However, in a piece about the proposed cover, McClain (the former executive music director at Sony and one of the supervisors of the Michael Jackson Foundation) says the cover will be a mix of images of Michael’s favorite faces—from lawyers to Martin Luther King and Marvin Gaye.
