Michael Jackson in the Image of an Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh

As you read earlier on this page, on December 13 of this year, several never-before-published photos of Michael Jackson will be auctioned by the Pier 21 auction house. These photos were taken in 1999 by French photographer Arno Bani. At the time, Michael was busy creating his final studio album, Invincible, which was released in 2001. It is said that Michael’s goal in taking these photos was to choose one of them as the cover art for his album. But in the end, he didn’t use any of them.

Previously, one of these photos—showing Michael wearing a shiny dinner outfit designed by Yves Saint Laurent—had been released (the right-side photo). But recently PerezHilton.com published another photo, claiming it is also by Arno Bani and depicts Michael in the guise of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh. According to Perez Hilton, this photo will also be auctioned in December.
