A Scarecrow of Michael Jackson in a Taiwanese Farm
Two scarecrows—one dressed in a Billie Jean outfit and the other a trailer—are guarding a rice farm in Taiwan. Lee Ping Sing, a 30-year-old farmer and a Michael Jackson fan, says:
“During my father’s harvest season, every day he had to go to the farm and scare away the annoying birds. I thought, since Michael is good at catching birds (a reference to Michael’s role as a scarecrow in the 1978 musical film Wiz), I’ll invite him to come and catch our birds too.... My grandfather yells that this is the last thing that will end well, and that Jackson’s spirit will come for us. But I think it would be good if Michael Jackson showed up around here.”
One passerby says: “I never imagined that one day I would see Michael Jackson here, teasing/scaring the birds.”
