A Michael Statue in China

Fans of the King of Pop in southern China are raising $23,000 to erect a memorial statue of the late pop icon in the Sculpture Park in Ganzhou, the capital of Ganzhou City, Guangdong Province. The bronze statue of Michael was created by the well-known artist Lou Hen Kong.

The statue, which proudly also has the backing of local politicians, will be installed in its place on the first day of the Lunar New Year. The organizer of the project says that during the unveiling ceremony, money will be collected for charity so that:

“It will spread Michael Jackson’s message of ‘Love’... I don’t keep my skin from bursting with joy when I see our dreams come true.”
