The Family Lawyer Says About the Kids

Adam Streisand, the lawyer for Catherine Jackson, described Michael’s children as very normal, lively, and humorous, even though they were raised in unusual circumstances. They are devoted to each other and to their grandmother, who is now their guardian.

The kids talk about their father most of the time, and his presence is felt throughout the large mansion where they live. Photos and memorabilia from him decorate the walls. Streisand said the children have watched This Is It, the film made from their father’s final stage rehearsals, but Catherine still doesn’t feel she has the strength to do so.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Catherine had said she misses her son, but she feels his presence in her three children. She says she is not as strict with raising her grandchildren as Michael was.

Streisand spoke about Prince’s 13-year-old interest in filmmaking, and how his sister, brother, and cousins play roles in their own homemade films.

Recently, a video of Paris and Blanket had made its way onto the internet. Streisand says this was part of their homemade film. In the video, Paris speaks to the camera, and Blanket imitates voices and tells a story.

Catherine says Paris, who has made a temple full of photos of her father on the wall of her bedroom, is interested in acting.

The chaos of the past few months that brought the police to the Jackson home also stems from this interest in cinema. Streisand says that Jafar, the 13-year-old son of Jermain, saw an ad for an electric gun on the internet and placed an order to use it in their films. When he tested the gun in the bathroom on a towel, the sound of the explosion alerted the guards, the gun was confiscated, and then the police and the family support agency arrived.

The kids love going to the cinema, especially when the film is an accident, or imaginary. They have become very interested in karate and have found a class to attend.

After their father’s death, they study at home. A room in a separate building within the mansion has been set aside to teach them. But this fall, for the first time, Prince will attend a private school. This decision was made by him and Catherine. Catherine told the Daily Mail in her interview that Paris and Blanket will also go to school, but no final decision has been made yet about the two of them.

Streisand describes 8-year-old Blanket as adorable and full of personality—a very sharp boy who looks a lot like his father.
