273 New Jacksons Tracks

Howard Mann, an economic company representative from Toronto, is the person who bought a warehouse full of items from the Jackson family after Joe stopped paying for their upkeep. He says he discovered 273 master tracks from the Jacksons. Some of them are only Michael’s voice, some are duets with stars like Tina Turner, and some are with his brothers. Some of them are related to the Jackson family show in 1975 for CBS. Mann says these songs were made in the late Motown period and the early days of his contract with Epic.

Mann believes these songs are not in the possession of the Michael Jackson Foundation, and that he can release them however he wants. That’s why he has entered negotiations with Catherine Jackson, Michael’s mother. But he has no intention of contacting Joe Jackson, Michael’s father. Catherine’s new book, titled “I Never Say Goodbye,” which she wrote in memory of her son, will be published by Mann. He calls himself Catherine Jackson’s business partner.

However, the Michael Jackson Foundation does not agree with this approach. Howard Weitzman, the lawyer for the foundation’s trustees, believes Mann’s actions are not meant to benefit Michael’s children, and if Mann doesn’t stop his efforts, they will pursue legal action against him. Weitzman angrily says:

“He is using his relationship with Mrs. Jackson to violate the copyright rules for Michael Jackson’s songs, and that is to the detriment of Michael’s three children.”
