A Michael Statue in the Czech Republic

Some fans want to set up a bronze statue of Michael, 182 centimeters tall, in Letna Park in Paraguay, Czech Republic. They plan to unveil the statue on August 29 this year, on Michael’s 52nd birthday. In 1996, Michael held a concert from his HIStory Tour in this city.

City officials have agreed to the plan, but 2,000 citizens have formed a group on Facebook to express their opposition. They say the reason for their opposition is that Michael had no connection to the Czech Republic.

However, an art gallery in Paraguay has suggested placing the Michael statue in Letna Park next to a statue of a contemporary Czech artist.
