Fans Line Up Outside the Los Angeles Court

On Monday, the Los Angeles Superior Court saw a session convened to determine the judge who would hear the charges against Conrad Murray for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. A huge crowd of Michael Jackson fans gathered around the courthouse. They were shouting, singing, and displaying their signs. One of these signs read, “Conrad Murray makes us scream.” The phrase is taken from one of Michael’s number-one songs, “Scream.”

Another sign said: “Everything is for love. Let justice be served for Michael.” The 48-year-old woman holding this sign said, “I’m not here to get attention. I came here for Michael from South Carolina. It’s a long day, but it’s a good one.” She says she came on behalf of all the fans she contacts through blogs and online forums, because for some reason they couldn’t be there.
