Fans Shut Down the Police Phone Lines
After news broke that Murray’s lawyers would surrender him voluntarily, Michael fans who want Murray arrested used their countless phone calls to shut down the phone lines of the prosecutor’s office and the criminal division of the police department.
One of these fans, who has been organizing the protest against this decision through internet websites, says:
“When Michael Jackson was arrested for something he didn’t do, they put handcuffs on his hands and humiliated him in public. We’re very angry that the same treatment isn’t being done to Dr. Murray—it’s disrespectful to us.
After Michael was sued in 2003 with false allegations of sexual abuse, he flew to Santa Monica on a private plane and surrendered himself to the police in that area. He was then transferred to jail in handcuffs and his fingerprints and photos were taken. Then he was taken to his ranch in Neverland with a $3 million bail—much higher than the bail set for Jani’s and criminals. After a months-long trial in 2005, he was acquitted of all charges.
The fans plan to attend court on Monday so that if Murray enters without handcuffs, they can shout their protest to the prosecutor.
“All we want is for justice to be served for Michael.”
