Paula Abdul: Michael sprayed Bubbles with perfume

Paula Abdul, 48, a choreographer and American Idol judge, said that Michael always used to mess with her, and she believed whatever Michael told her. In the early 1980s, during the Victory Tour of the Jackson Brothers, she worked with them as a choreographer.

“I always believed whatever Michael told me. He once played a prank on me using Bubbles (Michael’s pet chimpanzee). Bubbles had a very strange smell. I really liked Bubbles. But it really had a strange smell. Michael told me, ‘Well, chimpanzees smell like that too!’ And I believed him.”

Paula later realized that Michael had sprayed his own cologne onto Bubbles.

“I think he had dipped Bubbles into a bottle of Christian Dior perfume.”

Michael also had a “face-off” with Paula using a motorcycle.

“When pedal motorcycles were just entering the market, he sat me on one of them, but he didn’t tell me how it worked. I went straight into a rose bush, and the thorns cut my whole body.”
