A new documentary to prove Michael’s innocence

In 2005, Aphrodite Jones (blog) was one of only two writers who had permission for daily access to information from Michael Jackson’s court.

She had seven of her books become New York Times bestsellers, and she was going to achieve another major success under her name with the book “Michael Jackson Conspiracy.” But when she started writing, she ran into wall after wall. As one of the few journalists who believed the 2005 trial proved Michael’s innocence once and for all, Jones realized that publishing institutions were not willing to sign contracts to publish this book.

Michael’s defense attorney, Thomas Mesereau, also faced a similar problem. After the trial ended, almost all U.S. publishers contacted him with lucrative offers. When Mesereau said that he truly believed in Michael’s innocence and was not willing to say anything against his beliefs under any circumstances, all those offers were withdrawn.

The members of the jury in Michael’s trial, who had voted for his innocence on June 13, 2005, also faced similar offers, and two of them caved in. They claimed on a television program that, in their opinion, Michael was guilty. But this statement was made not in court, but after they had signed six book publishing contracts.

Other jury members said that they too had received generous offers from publishing institutions, but if they sold their votes for money, the credibility of the jury would be questioned.

One of those two jury members, named Ray Halteman, after it was revealed that his book contained stolen sections from a problematic article from another source, lost his profitable contract. He had also made claims in the book that could not be proven true. For example, he wrote that Michael could remove his nose and put it back in place.

The book was written with the help of Stacy Brown, who is known for slandering Michael Jackson. Brown also collaborated on a book written by Michael’s former employee, Bob Jones. Bob Jones was forced to admit, after taking the witness stand in 2005, that part of The Man Behind The Mask had been fabricated by Stacy Brown with lies in order to boost book sales.

But Ray Halteman’s credibility fell even further when it was discovered that after the court verdict was read, at a press conference he had said: “We had no evidence to convict him. There was no other way for us except to acquit him.”

The second jury member, Eleanor Cook, never published her book. Her grandson said that, during the evaluation of jury eligibility that took place a few months before the trial, his grandmother had signed a book publishing contract before the trial began.

Two months after the verdict was read, the remaining jury members spoke out and criticized Halteman and Cook, calling them traitors and calling their claims ridiculous.

Because publishing institutions were determined to portray Michael as guilty in the media despite the lack of evidence and ignoring the court verdict, the book “Be Careful Who You Love” was published by Diane Diamond. The author says that her only goal in life is to destroy Michael Jackson—someone whose co-author, Smiley Reed, calls a “Jackson stalker.”

But the situation with Aphrodite Jones is completely different.

She began her extensive research. She obtained permission to attend Michael’s court sessions from Judge Radney? (Radney Melville?) and also succeeded in gaining access to all evidence and transcripts related to the cases. Over a few days, Jones made copies of all of them and spent the next six months studying them carefully. Because of the abundance of data and information, she used two computer systems. One stored all her research, and the other was where she kept her notes. After that, she spent six months writing her book.

“Michael Jackson Conspiracy” was an explosive book. Not only did it provide all the evidence that cleared Michael and the testimonies that the media had refused to publish; it also clearly showed the media’s hostility toward Michael Jackson and revealed their hidden motives. The short paragraph written in the introduction to this book is as follows:

“Susan’s punishment against the media for conspiring to make you look bad, to present you as inhuman, and to ruin Michael Jackson. Jones convinces the reader that the case of accusations against Michael was more than just a media show. She also asks the reader to follow the news with a critical eye and a desire for honesty and truth.”

Because her last seven books were bestsellers, she couldn’t find a publisher for this book and was forced to take action herself to publish it. This 296-page book was released in June 2007, two years after Michael was acquitted of the charges.

In an interview after the book’s release, she expressed her desire to make the television version of this book as a documentary about Michael Jackson’s trial, and after a few years, her dream will come true this April.

This documentary will be aired as one of the parts of her new program titled True Crime on the newly established Discovery Television network, called Investigations Discovery (ID).

This one-hour documentary will cover the 2005 Michael Jackson trial, false news, media manipulation, and answers to the question of why Michael left the world with a broken heart.

Jones says the 2005 trial proved Michael’s innocence, and this documentary will show that truth again.
