Kenny Ortega: “Michael Is My Angel”

Kenny Ortega has recently signed a deal to make a musical film titled In the Heights. Although he has successful musical film directing credits in his resume—such as High School Musical and Dirty Dancing—he knows the new contract came his way because of the success of This Is It, its strong positive reviews, and its high sales. In a new interview, he tells Variety:

“I would have given all of these things just to have one moment of Michael among us. But I owe him. He is my angel. Every time I said ‘yes’ to him (to work with him), I gained benefit and profit.”
