Michael Made Stevie Wonder Cry
The 25th anniversary celebration of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was held last Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Many music veterans such as Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and Stevie Wonder performed at the event. But the most emotional moment of the celebration came when Stevie Wonder started crying while singing a Michael song.
Stevie Wonder came on stage to perform The Way You Make Me Feel, one of Michael Jackson’s most prominent and famous songs, in honor of this legend. In the middle of the song, Stevie went quiet, bowed his head, and began to cry. But he quickly regained control of himself and continued the song until the end. And it had a happy ending, with the crowd shouting, “We love you, Michael Jackson!” and “Long live Michael Jackson!”
During the song, singer John Legend joined Stevie on stage. Behind the scenes, he said that Stevie Wonder’s emotional reaction to Michael Jackson was very sincere and genuine: “You can feel it. I’m honored that I had the chance to be there with him and pay tribute to Michael’s legacy.”
