Conrad Murray case: updates continue

Conrad Murray, the doctor who injected Michael Jackson with a deadly combination of several powerful sleeping drugs plus the dangerous anesthetic propofol, then left his patient alone to go to the bathroom and make a few phone calls—despite the fact that the patient should have been continuously monitored for brain and breathing function. As a result, Michael went into unconsciousness due to lack of oxygen, suffered a complete cardiac arrest, fell into a coma, and then died. On Monday, he returned to his office in Houston, Texas, to work for a few hours. His lawyer claims that since Michael’s death, five months ago, Murray has been unable to work because of threats and dangers, and therefore has not been able to earn any income. This comes as his legal payments and debts have piled up, and his girlfriend has filed a lawsuit against him for failing to pay the monthly costs for their newborn child. Murray’s house is in mortgage, and it’s unclear whether he can keep it. His lawyer says Murray wants to pay for the treatment of those patients who supported him during this period. But the question remains: how could a patient entrust his life to a careless doctor who is accused of murder? However, good news for his patients is that the Texas Medical Board is working with the Los Angeles Police Department regarding Conrad Murray’s medical case and the history of the drugs he prescribed for Michael Jackson. Meanwhile, as Conrad Murray worries about paying his debts and the police complete their case, Michael’s children, family, and fans around the world continue to mourn him—and only hope that his killer will be punished as soon as possible.
