Captain E.O. Returns

Roger Friedman says the fictional 3D film Captain E.O., in which Michael plays the lead role, will be shown again at Disneyland in January of next year. Heavily influenced by Star Wars, the film was produced in 1986 by George Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars film series, and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, the director of the Godfather series. Captain E.O. was shown in Disneyland parks around the world until the late 1990s, and it was one of the major attractions of these entertainment centers. After Michael’s death and people’s requests, rumors about the film returning gained strength, but Disney officials rejected it. Now, with the success of This Is It and strong sales (125,000 copies in the past week) of the Michael greatest-hits album worldwide, Captain E.O. has once again become dear to them. Michael plays, sings, and dances in this film. Disney has the right to show the film whenever it wants. Maybe even a ceremony with a red carpet will be arranged for the film’s opening at Disneyland.
