Whitney Houston called Michael’s death devastating
On this week’s Oprah show, Whitney Houston, a prominent Black singer, described the death of the King of Pop as “devastating” in response to the question of what impact it had on her.
“I have a lot of great memories of spending time with him.”
“I’ve known his family for years—at least twenty years. I thought (his death) couldn’t be true. It can’t be true.”
She said her last contact with Michael dated back to the time when the King of Pop was dealing with his court case.
“During the trial, I spoke with him. At that time, he cut off his connection with many people. He didn’t want to be seen. He talked to me on the phone, but he didn’t want me to see him.”
“I’ve never seen anyone as quiet as he was. The way his phone call ended makes me sad.”
