Michael’s doctor sues another doctor

After Michael’s death, Steven Haefflin, one of his former doctors, accused several other doctors of giving different medications to the King of Pop. One of those doctors was dermatologist Arnold Klein.

On Monday, Klein sued Haefflin in court over Haefflin’s statements against him. Klein said that publishing Haefflin’s remarks in the English newspaper The Sun on August 26 had blown away the reputation he had worked for over several decades and caused the media to refer to him with titles such as “the stars’ plastic surgeon” or “the collagen king.” Of course, in his lawsuit Klein did not mention the information he himself had shared with the public and the media just days after Michael’s death through Larry King’s live television program. On that day, he shared Michael’s confidential medical information with people around the world without regard for doctors’ duty of confidentiality, and he also talked about his personal relationship with Michael and his children.

Haefflin said that Propofol, the anesthetic drug that caused Michael’s death, was provided to Conrad Murray by Dr. Klein. He also claimed that after Michael suffered cardiac arrest, Murray contacted Klein to get medical advice because he had learned how to inject such a drug from him. Murray’s lawyer denied any connection between his client and Klein. According to a police report, Conrad Murray bought the drug propofol from a pharmacy in Las Vegas. In his filing, Klein accused Haefflin of trying to gain fame.
