Michael will be buried on his birthday

A spokesperson for the Jackson family, speaking to the Associated Press, said that Michael Jackson’s body will be laid to rest on his birthday in a private ceremony at Forest Lawn. On that day, Michael would have turned 51. Only family members and close friends will attend the burial ceremony.

This news is announced one day after it was revealed that Joe Jackson, in an interview with NY Daily, said the family decided to bury Michael at 10:00 a.m. on the 51st anniversary of his birthday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Ken Sunshine, a spokesperson for the Jackson family, said that Michael will be buried in a large tomb located on the grounds of the Raj trees at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The tomb is decorated with copies of Michelangelo statues, as well as a stained-glass piece featuring Leonardo da Vinci’s painting The Last Supper.

This tomb is located in the city of Glendale, about 13 kilometers north of Los Angeles, and is different from the Hollywood Hills cemetery where the Jackson family had been seen in the days after Michael’s death.

Randy Jackson, Michael’s brother, also confirmed to TMZ that on the morning of Saturday, August 29 (Saturday, September 7), Michael will be laid to rest.

“I’ll be there... and yes, the brothers will carry his coffin to the tomb.”
