Michael Jackson’s fashion line
Weeks before his death, Michael had been working on a fashion line. The line includes 300 pieces of clothing and other items.
On Tuesday morning, on NBC’s Today Show, after confirming that Michael Jackson’s fashion line was underway, photos of some designs were shown. Among them was a red coat model, which is actually a new version of the coat Michael wore in the Thriller video in 1984.
During his lifetime, Michael was not only a music icon. With his various special, flashy outfits he wore throughout his life, he also became a fashion icon. And now the world can benefit again from his creativity as a fashion designer.
Michael turned a sequined glove and a special red motorcycle jacket into symbols in the fashion and music industries. His military jackets, concert tour outfits, and other accessories—from wristbands to strings and bejeweled details, and more—have influenced many fashion designers around the world. For example, this year Christophe Decarnin has clearly shown this influence in his summer fashion line.
If before June 25 the media had been reporting about Michael’s illness and his reluctance to continue working and holding concerts, and they pointed the finger at him, then since the day of his death on June 25, many interesting projects have been revealed—projects Michael was managing and working on away from the noise of the media. All that can be said is that the man everyone thought was stepping back or becoming reclusive was, contrary to all those reports, full of new ideas, full of life and energy, and thinking about taking the world by storm again.
Even if he didn’t live long enough to put his plans into action, it seems they were so important that even after his death they continue to have an impact and are being noticed. Many people are expected to want to get their hands on a collection of clothes designed by Michael.
Last year, the King of Pop attended the birthday celebration of French fashion designer Christian Audigier, and at the time there were whispers about a collaboration between the two, but after that no further news came. Now it is said that Christian Audigier is working on launching this clothing line.
Audigier says that Michael intended to create a clothing fashion line for his distinctive style.
Some sources say that in this fashion line, besides clothing, Michael also designed accessories such as wine glasses, a sleep mask, a handbag, a belt buckle, an umbrella, and a tea set!
