Mexican Fans and a Thriller Dance Record

Michael Jackson fans in Mexico want to break the record for a group dance performance of Thriller.

The current record belongs to students at William & Mary University in the United States, who set their record for Thriller as the highest number of dancers performing simultaneously in one place in the Guinness World Records with 242 people. The previous record was 147 people, set in 2008 for a middle school in the UK.

Mexican fans, on Michael’s birthday, August 29, will attempt to break the record. The dance team—10,000 people have registered to join it—will be led by a Michael impersonator.
