The Drugs Were Hidden on a Secret Shelf

Officials say that Michael’s doctor, Conrad, had a hidden shelf of drugs in his office in Michael’s rented home in Bel Air.

When police searched Michael’s home on the night of June 25, a few hours after his death, they couldn’t find the drug propofol or other drugs that were discovered later. Two days later, on Saturday, Conrad Murray went to the police station and personally told officers where the drugs were being kept. On Monday, police went to Michael’s home for a second time and found a shelf of drugs in the guest room of the house—where Murray was staying.

One of the maids said the drugs had been hidden and were not in plain sight. Propofol, the anesthetic, was also found among these drugs.

After that, the Los Angeles Police Department asked the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to get involved in the investigation into Michael’s death because of the information it has about illegal drugs and the companies that manufacture them. The duty of this agency is to check whether the doctors who prescribed such drugs were licensed by the agency. It must also be determined where these drugs came from and whether they were smuggled to the doctors.
