You left too soon... Ryan White’s mother speaks about her feelings
Ryan White was a boy who died at the age of 19 after contracting AIDS. He had gotten the disease in 1987 due to an injection of contaminated blood. After Ryan White died in 1990, Michael wrote a song titled “Gone Too Soon” (“You left too soon”) and dedicated it to Ryan. Now Ryan White’s mother says that... Michael left too soon.
This song was the ninth single from Michael Jackson’s album Dangerous, released in November 1991. Michael later performed the song in January 1993 at the inauguration ceremony of Bill Clinton as President of the United States, using it to tell everyone about the need for further research and to find a solution to fight this deadly disease. In December 1997, after the death of Princess Diana—who was a member of the British royal family and a philanthropist—this song was included on an album released in her memory.
Now, after years, Ryan White’s mother has released a recorded audio tape of a phone conversation between Michael and her son:
Ryan White: Hi Michael, I got tickets for the first showing of the Batman movie. Do you want to come?
Michael: Yeah, I’d really love to, Ryan, but maybe I’ll have to be in the studio for your recording. I’ll have to see.

Jane White, Ryan’s mother, says:
"Michael was truly a kind-hearted person. He worked very hard since childhood. He didn’t have a childhood, and if you went to Neverland, you would behave like a child too."
For Jane White, Michael wasn’t the King of Pop—he was a dear family friend. Michael stayed by her side during the hardest time of their lives, and he was there for her when Ryan died.
Gone Too Soon
Like a shooting star
that flares in the sky
Gone too soon
Like a rainbow
that disappears in the blink of an eye
Gone too soon
Bright and shining
with a magnificent glow
You were here one day
Then you were gone
Like the fading sun
on a cloudy afternoon
Gone too soon
Like a palace
built on a sandy shore
Gone too soon
Like a flower in bloom
beyond reach
Gone too soon
Born to entertain, inspire, and make happy
You were here one day
Then you were gone
Like the sunset
that dies with the moonrise
Gone too soon
Gone too soon
