AEG statement about Michael Jackson’s concerts

Randy Phillips, CEO of AEG, the company organizing the London concerts, issued a statement rejecting the rumor that Michael had no desire to perform 50 concerts in London and that the company had put him in a position of being forced to do it. He said:

“This rumor is not true. Michael Jackson was excited about selling all the tickets for his 50 concerts. Given the scale and high cost of these concerts, it wasn’t possible to stage them in a limited number of shows. Michael was aware of everything from the beginning. He hasn’t agreed to a world tour yet, but whenever he decides, we are ready.”
