Michael’s Sequin Glove Sells for $99,100

A sequined white glove by Michael Jackson sold for $99,100 on the eBay website.

According to the seller, the glove was made by Bill Whitten, Michael’s costume designer, and Michael wore it at events such as the 1984 Grammy Awards ceremony, as well as on the Victory tour in 1984 and 1985.

The seller also said that the glove had been given by Michael Jackson to Dick Clark, one of America’s most famous television personalities. A note from Dick Clark about the glove is available:

"I love this Michael Jackson glove. I called him and said, ‘Michael, I have to have something from you. Give me the beaded glove. Can you?’ He said, ‘Yeah, yeah.’ Two days later a man came looking for me, ‘Is Dick Clark here? Give him this. He asked for it.’ That man was Michael Jackson himself, who brought the white glove to me."

This auction brought more than 5,400 eager visitors to eBay to watch the glove, which is part of music history. The auction began on April 19 with a starting bid of $1,500, and seven days later, seven bidders received 295 bids.
