Nederlander: The disputes will be resolved

James Nederlander, a Broadway theater producer, said in a statement released yesterday that he hopes the legal disputes over the Thriller video’s royalties will be resolved. Earlier this week, he had announced his intention to stage a musical based on the Thriller video on Broadway theater stages. John Landis, who directed this video 25 years ago, sued Nederlander and Michael Jackson in court. Landis claims that he owns 50% of the video’s royalties, and therefore Michael Jackson is not legally allowed to enter into such a contract with Nederlander. In a comment, Nederlander said: “I’m confident that the past disputes will be resolved.” Source: eMJey / AP
