Michael’s Former Nanny Testifies

Yesterday, November 21, Grace Rouwamba, Michael’s former children’s nanny and personal assistant, testified in London court. This court has been convened to address the $7 million lawsuit filed by the son of the Bahraini king against Michael Jackson for alleged breach of contract terms. Grace described the sheikh, Sheikh Abd... bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is currently the private claimant against Michael, as a generous friend who wanted to give Michael money and gifts. She also said that the sheikh referred to Michael as “his brother” and had repeatedly given Michael money and gifts. "He would say: ‘What can I do that I can do for my brother? What can I give the kids? Mr. Jackson had back pain, and he told me to get him Tiger Balm.’" Grace Rouwamba said that the sheikh’s behavior seemed pleasant and likable to her. The money in question—amounts of $35,000 and $1 million—had been transferred by the sheikh to Grace Rouwamba’s personal account for payment to Michael, because, according to Grace, Michael Jackson did not have a personal bank account. Grace said that when she received the first payment of $35,000, she was stunned because she considered it a huge amount. But according to her, the sheikh apologized that the amount was small and said that next time he would pay more. It was also said that Sheikh Al Khalifa had covered the cost of Michael and his team’s stay at the hotel, as well as visits to Toys R Us to buy Christmas gifts for Michael’s guests.
