Bahraini Sheikh Testifies in Court

The $7 million claimant against Michael Jackson, the second son of the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Abd... bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was placed in the witness stand yesterday during the court proceedings against the King of Pop. The sheikh’s lawyer says that Michael breached the contract that he had signed with Abd... for the publication of an autobiography book and the recording of songs. According to Benkim Tinky, his client no longer wants to enter into future contracts or do joint work with Michael Jackson, and wants to end this relationship and, in short, get his money back. The sheikh said that he and Michael worked together on several songs, and that he wanted Michael to record and perform these songs. In the witness stand, he stated that he had not received any music training and that he could only play the piano to the extent of a child’s ability. “No, I write the songs with the producers. I don’t make songs on my own.” That was the answer the Bahraini sheikh gave to a question from Michael’s defense lawyer, Mr. Engl Hart. Engl Hart also questioned and challenged the $7 million amount requested by the sheikh. The sheikh said that when he and Michael Jackson signed an agreement in April 2006, they had agreed on this amount. The defense lawyer said that, according to Sheikh Abd...’s cost list, at the time the agreement was signed, the total cost of carrying out this project had been estimated at under $6 million. Tomorrow, Michael Jackson will take the witness stand to defend himself against the Bahraini sheikh’s accusations.
