Madame Tussauds dances Thriller
On October 30, next to the wax figure of Michael Jackson at the Madame Tussauds museum in Times Square in New York City, a group Thriller dance event was held with the goal of setting a new record in the Guinness World Records book. On that day, several professional and experienced choreographers danced alongside ordinary people. Three Michael impersonators also took part in the dance.
On this day, 73 people with special makeup broke the record for the most participants in a simultaneous Thriller dance performance in one location. A few days earlier, 4,179 people from around the world had broken the record for a global and simultaneous Thriller dance performance in 72 cities across 10 countries.
One of the participants in the dance said: “Michael must really like our performance. Learning and performing the Thriller dance—or any of Michael Jackson’s other songs—takes a lot of courage. In any case, we wanted to break the world record.”
