Interview with Michael Jackson’s father and mother

Interview with Michael Jackson’s father and mother

Access Hollywood released parts of the interview with Michael’s mother and father that took place in June of this year. In this interview, Joseph Jackson made it clear to everyone that he firmly stands behind his child:

“Michael is a superstar. He is a superstar who was raised properly.”

Enduring this exhausting situation has been difficult for all members of the family—especially for the mother of the household:

“I have to keep my composure. I have to stay focused and not get angry so my blood pressure doesn’t rise and I don’t have a stroke.”

Catherine, Michael’s mother, can’t sleep at night because she is worried about how the media changes things. She knows her son and knows that he is as pure as the day.

Joseph blames the media for misleading people about these accusations:

“They never tell the truth about anything. It doesn’t matter whether the issue is about Michael or someone else. When they grow so much in their profession, (the media) they always want to bring them down.”

He doesn’t see anything strange about Michael’s behavior and his dancing on top of his car on the first day of his trial:

“He loves his fans and his fans love him. I don’t care how the media twists this matter, but they are Michael’s fans.”

When he was asked about opening the doors of Neverland to the public, he replied:

“Michael wanted everyone to have happy times, and that’s what everyone did.”

Joseph spoke about Michael’s decision to allow the Nation of Islam to protect him:

“Michael was receiving a lot of threatening letters, and it really upset him. He couldn’t sleep at night. So the only thing he did was hire some good guards.”

When asked what he would tell the complainant’s mother if he saw her with his son, he answered:

“I would tell her, you know the truth. You know what you did to other people before, and now you’re trying to do that to my son. Do you think that’s right?”
