October 14, 2003 – Michael: “I’m Praying for Roy Horn”

In response to the news from October 11 about a 600-pound white tiger attacking Roy Horn (from the magic duo Siegfried & Roy) during a show at the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas, Michael Jackson released the following statement:

"Roy Horn is a very special person who brings joy to the world and has always given me good feelings in my life. I’m praying for his quick recovery, and I’m sending my heartfelt thoughts to his family."

Roy was taken into surgery immediately after this attack, and returned to the operating room again on Saturday, October 13, to relieve pressure on his brain. Michael Jackson performed his song “Mind Is The Magic” in tribute to Siegfried & Roy.
