Trading on Information in the Form of a Book

August

Two members of the jury that voted in the former Michael Jackson case regarding his sexual abuse accusations involving a 13-year-old boy—accusations that led to his acquittal last June—intend to recount what they call “untold facts” in a book.

Jury member number one and five—named Ray Hultman and Eleanor Cook—have signed a contract with the company SilverCreek Entertainment to write two books about the process of handling Michael Jackson’s accusation case. One of the two book titles has been revealed as: “Guilty but Free Like a Bird.”

The company is also planning to make a film about the jury in Michael’s case.

According to Cook and Hultman, the two, along with another jury member whose name has not been disclosed, initially did not intend to acquit Michael of all his charges. However, these two jury members have not said which parts of the accusations they did not believe Michael deserved to be acquitted of.

During a press conference held in June and immediately after the jury’s verdict of acquittal was announced, Hultman—the 62-year-old jury member—said that he personally believed Michael was guilty, but because the prosecution’s evidence was not sufficient, a verdict of acquittal was issued.

But according to journalist Stacy Brown, “the story of these two jury members doesn’t add up.”

Brown says: “If they truly felt that Michael Jackson was guilty, they had the chance to send their message with their verdict. If they really believed that a sexual deviant would return to society, they could have stopped the jury... I think they were only trying to sell their books.”
