Set a Date for a Financial Lawsuit Against Michael
Following a lawsuit filed by a financial company against Michael Jackson, claiming he owes $48 million, the judge set June 18 of this year for a hearing on the case.
Darin Dash, the head of the company, claims that Michael asked him for financial help in late 2004, when he was dealing with the legal proceedings involving the accusations against him. The company alleges that it lent Michael money to pay his $272 million debt to the bank, and also became involved in a $573 million investment so that Michael could obtain half of the publishing rights to the Beatles music catalog.
Londell McMillan, Michael’s attorney in this case, said: "Michael will not be made the victim of these hypocritical claims."
