Michael’s First Album Without a Contract With a Record Company?
Will.i.am, who is collaborating with Michael on his new album, said in an interview with paidContent.org that the music industry needs to create change and renewal in order to survive. In the view of this hip-hop producer and performer, people no longer value music records and CDs, and, as the saying goes, everything has become computerized and old models no longer work.
Will.i.am also said: “I can imagine how Michael could be the first major artist to release his album without signing a contract with a record company and without their support.”
He said that Michael is in a very good condition, and the two are working together on strong, impactful melodies and rhythms that make anyone want to dance.
“I think he’s the only artist who doesn’t need a record company and can release his album through internet networks and successfully go independent. After the songs are produced in the studio, they go straight onto the web so people can buy them.”
