After eight days of deliberation and consultation, the jury acquitted Michael Jackson of all ten charges he faced. When all 12 jurors reached agreement on this verdict, Michael Jackson was called to the courtroom by telephone so the ruling could be read in his presence.

An hour later, Michael Jackson—while hundreds of reporters, along with his fans, were waiting for his arrival—appeared in court accompanied by all members of his family. Michael looked extremely worried and anxious.

When one of the jurors took the stand to announce the verdict, Michael sat in a chair in front of the judge with a calm appearance, but with a turbulent inner state.

A short while later, Michael—surrounded by his family members and security—left the Santa Maria courthouse forever amid the cries and joy of the fans, with an appearance that was completely composed yet stunned.

After Michael exited, fans in the courthouse’s outdoor area began celebrating with loud cheering and applause.

Some of them were also waiting at the entrance to Norland for his triumphant and magnificent return, to celebrate his arrival.

This trial, over the course of three months, had extensive media coverage by hundreds of reporters who had come to Santa Maria from more than 50 countries to gather news.

After the trial ended, the defeated prosecutor—looking grim and trying to hide his true feelings—told reporters at a press conference in front of them that now that the case had concluded, he should return to his office.

Reporters also arranged for the jury members to provide you with a full account of both of these conferences, along with photos and more news regarding today’s events.
