John Legend, Beckford, and Kid With Michael Jackson in Bahrain (+ New Photos)

DJ Whoo Kid has recently met Michael in Bahrain. He, along with John Legend (John Legend) and Tyson Beckford (Tyson Beckford), were guests of Sheikh Abd... bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahraini prince. Whoo Kid says that during this brief meeting, he and Michael became so close that he wants to arrange a collaboration between Michael and Fifty Cent. He says: “I saw Michael sitting by the pool, drinking lemonade. They hadn’t told me that Michael was also there. I didn’t even think he would be in the country. I told him, ‘How’s it going?’ and I acted like I’m not even a die-hard fan. I admired him for all his work and everything he’s done, but inside I was going crazy. He said, ‘I’m just taking a break for now.’ So I stepped away. Everyone respected the space he wanted and kept their distance. Michael thought I was funny, so he stayed with us. The Sheikh was happy to see that Michael was comfortable with me. So he invited the rest of our group to dinner as well. Apparently, during dinner, people kept their distance from Michael. There was an empty seat next to Michael, and it seemed the guests didn’t dare to sit on it.” Finally, after hours earlier Whoo Kid’s jokes had made Michael laugh, Michael called the DJ over to sit with him. DJ Whoo Kid continues the imitation of Michael in a high voice: “Michael said, ‘Whoo Kid, sit here.’ I was shocked by that! Michael was originally supposed to stay there for only 45 minutes. But he was there for 5 hours. We talked about Eminem. He asked, ‘Has Eminem really retired?’ I had completely forgotten that Eminem had mocked him in his video (Just Lose It), but Michael didn’t even bring it up. Then he talked about Fifty Cent.” Whoo Kid says that Michael expressed interest in collaborating with Fifty Cent and Kanye West on a new album. Whoo Kid also arranged a phone conversation between Fifty Cent and Michael. On that day, Fifty Cent had gone to Morocco to record a video with Samuel Jackson. “After their conversation ended and Michael handed me the phone, Fifty Cent on the line told me, ‘Fuck you!’ and then hung up.” About dinner, he says: “They brought a whole lamb to the dinner table, and Mike was eating a bunch of weird vegetables. I told Mike, ‘You’d better eat that lamb. Let me give you a little bit of lamb meat—’ The Sheikh was laughing so hard. And I kept repeating, ‘Lamb meat!’—you can’t make jokes like that with Michael. In the end it got to the point where I even cursed: ‘Fuck!’ I told him he should cut his hair, buy a pair of earrings, and a watch worth several million dollars, and take off these spacey clothes. And he said, ‘I have to completely change my look.’ He said he also does workouts.” Whoo Kid says that whenever his schedule allows, he travels to Bahrain to record a song with Michael. And that’s at the top of his list of priorities. “ I just know the guy I saw was cool and down-to-earth. For seven full hours, there were no lawyers or managers around. We were a bunch of people who love to joke and love art, and we didn’t want anything from him—except to see the real Michael Jackson. And that night, we did.” It’s just a shame we couldn’t take a photo of Beckford’s dance competition against M.J. Rashid was the person who looked after DJ Whoo Kid during his stay in Bahrain.
