Some time ago, Prince Jackson responded to someone on Twitter who had questioned his father-son relationship with Michael Jackson.
He wrote that a blood relationship is not required for a family relationship. The media took Prince's words as confirmation of the claim that there is no blood relation between Michael and Prince, and published it as such.
Yet Prince had previously stated explicitly on multiple occasions that he is one of the Jacksons.
This month, the reality show of the T3 brothers (his cousins) was broadcast on television. In the segment showing their camp, Prince makes amusing jokes and at one point says, "We Jacksons naturally have big heads and don't need pillows." On his 18th birthday he thanked his father for giving him the gift of life. Earlier, when he defended Barack Obama as a second-term presidential candidate on Twitter and asked people not to vote Republican, he wrote that he was speaking as a mixed-race person whose father is Black and mother is White. Prince also inherited vitiligo — the skin condition that causes depigmentation and the loss of skin color — from his father, and signs of it are visible under his arm in the photo above. But all of these facts have consistently been met with silence from the media.
After the media uproar, Prince took to Twitter to rebuff their attacks and wrote:
"I think as usual my words have been twisted. My dad is completely and entirely my dad and my siblings' dad. I'm only saying this for those who want to debate it. They should know that their claims hold no weight for us."
The media have never had a comfortable relationship with the facts of famous people's lives and strive to distort events. This led Prince to repost a tweet that was a response to his clarification. That tweet read: "Notice how this tweet gets less than half the attention the previous one did."
