Michael Jackson's Thriller short film — widely regarded as the greatest music video of all time and the only music video enshrined in the US National Film Registry — is set to be released in 3D.
This 14-minute musical film, produced in 1983 and directed by John Landis, is being prepared by that same director for a 3D release next year. The film is expected to be screened in cinemas.
A member of the Jackson family has stated that releasing Thriller in 3D was Michael's own idea for the 2009 This Is It tour. The family member added that the Michael Jackson Estate is also looking to invest further in the film and even to develop video games based on it.
