Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury Duets Awaiting Estate's Green Light
Roger Taylor, the drummer of Queen, has recently commented on the re-mixing of the collaborative song(s) recorded by the two late artists, Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury, for release on a new album of Freddie's unreleased recordings titled Queen Forever. The mixing of these tracks was carried out by William Orbit.
Taylor said: "William Orbit has done a beautiful job mixing one of Michael's songs."
Although the drummer expressed confidence about the release, the latest findings indicate that the fate of these collaborative songs now rests in the hands of the Michael Jackson Estate.
The Queen drummer has recently revealed that the Michael Jackson Estate has in some way blocked the progress of the project to release these songs. It does not appear that the Estate has formally commented on the release of these recordings; however, the decision-making process on their part has apparently taken longer than Queen can tolerate. Queen continues to wait for the Michael Jackson Estate's decision regarding the release of these songs.
Taylor said: "Getting a response from the Michael Jackson Estate has been difficult."
