'A Place With No Name' Music Video Premieres on Twitter
Michael Jackson's official website announced on Monday that the official music video for the second single from his new album would be unveiled on Twitter. This happened this morning, and you can watch the video at this link.
Michael wrote "A Place With No Name" based on "A Horse With No Name," a song released in 1972 by the band America.
Michael's song tells the story of a man whose car breaks down on the road and is taken by a mysterious woman to an imaginary place, free from fear and pain — a dreamlike world where no one suffers. Michael recorded this song with Dr. Freeze in 1998 at the Record Plant studio.
The video was directed by Samuel Bayer, who has directed videos for Nirvana and the Rolling Stones and has won several awards.
The video also incorporates behind-the-scenes and unused footage from the 1992 "In the Closet" video.
"A Place With No Name" is the second single from the Xscape album, which upon its release earlier this year topped music charts worldwide, reaching number one in 52 countries and placing in the top five in 87 others.
