Michael Jackson's Fifth Birthday Celebration to Be Held in His Hometown

The tribute to Michael Jackson in his hometown has become an annual tradition.

Katherine Jackson, Michael's mother, has announced that this year, as in the past four years, a multi-day event will be held in the city of Gary, Indiana to celebrate the King of Pop's birthday. This year's event will take place on August 28th, 29th, and 30th, with some changes from previous years.

This year's event, titled "Art for Life," celebrates the talent that emerged from the city of Gary — talent that began with the Jackson 5 and reached its pinnacle with Michael Jackson.

The event will be held at Roosevelt High School and will feature live music, a dance competition, art exhibitions, and fireworks among the highlights of these three days.
