We know that many of you are among those who boycott the Manoto ("Man & You") network, but it is worth knowing that the network has planned a special program for Thursday the 29th of Esfand [around March 20].
The network intends to air a program about Michael Jackson's Immortal show by Cirque du Soleil at 12:00 on Thursday the 29th of Esfand (repeats: Friday at 5:30 and Saturday at 8:00). IMMORTAL is the name of one of Cirque du Soleil's shows. The name means "everlasting" and refers to the enduring nature of Michael Jackson's work. In Immortal — which has been touring globally since 2011 across countries worldwide and has achieved remarkable success — the music, dance, and artistry of the King of Pop are beautifully brought to the stage by the circus's dancers and acrobats. This tour has broken Cirque du Soleil's previous records and has been the best-selling tour in North America.
Manoto wrote: "A new work from Cirque du Soleil — the Michael Jackson tour. In this documentary-style performance, Cirque du Soleil performs Michael Jackson's great and timeless works including Dangerous, Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough, Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Billie Jean, and Black or White. Michael Jackson's music on its own brings excitement and joy, and now Cirque du Soleil has doubled that excitement with their extraordinary performance." (Link to source)
It is not entirely clear from this description whether a documentary about the Immortal show will be aired, or the show itself — but the teaser for the program is from a documentary following the creation and staging of the Immortal show.
Finally, we should add that watching this program does not mean overlooking or forgiving the many errors this network has made regarding Michael Jackson's character and artistry.
