Justin Bieber has long been surrounded by controversy, including the release of a video of him urinating into a restaurant’s cleaning-supplies bin, rumors about him spitting on his fans that were never confirmed, loud house parties featuring American rappers and nude dancers, and complaints that his neighbors submitted to the police after his car “drifting” in residential areas. The most recent incident is also his throwing eggs at a neighbor’s home and damaging the building’s exterior, which led police to rush to Bieber’s house and carry out extensive local investigations. Now, serious talk about this matter is in the air, and the case is reportedly being referred to the prosecutor’s office.

Bieber was arrested on January 23, 2014, for drag-racing with an expired license. He resisted the arrest, according to officers, and was listed as driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol and prescription drugs in Miami, Florida. Laboratory tests confirmed that Bieber was driving under the influence of drugs. Bieber turned himself in to the Toronto Police on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, based on assault charges filed against him by his limousine driver, who fled the scene after calling the police in late December. Earlier this January, Bieber was also involved in egg-tossing vandalism and narcotics possession in Los Angeles, California.

Bieber’s friend Lil Za was arrested in a raid at Bieber’s LA residence two weeks ago. Lil Za was found with possession of drugs and has been charged with three different felonies. He could face a nine-year jail time sentence. Lil Za, whose real name is Xavier Smith, 19, was caught with drugs by the Los Angeles County Sheriff in an investigation carried out at Bieber’s home. Bieber’s neighbor complained about the damage he caused in an egg-tossing attack. However, Bieber had no connection to the felonies charged against Lil Za, nor to the substance found with Lil Za. The investigation into the case is still ongoing, and Bieber’s run-ins with law enforcement continue.

Bieber’s bad behavior has been all over the news. There is a petition signed by more than 100,000 people to deport Bieber back to his native country, Canada. The Obama administration needs to seriously consider the petition. Miley Cyrus, 21, the infamous twerking pop star, advises Bieber: “Pay people to make sure you don’t get in trouble and party at your house, buy a house, and add a club to it.” Seemingly, Bieber is always embroiled in some controversy, which shows his irresponsible actions. Although at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey he was not arrested, his jet was detained based on a review of potential drugs—none were found.

Justin Bieber continues to pile on to his “badass” antics with this recent egg throwing investigation. It is clear that fame has been getting to the young pop star’s head, and before things get too far he should start looking towards his inspiration, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, told Complex Magazine in 2012 that “when [Bieber] looks at who he should chase and who’s setting the bar, we only talk about Michael Jackson.”

The 19-year-old musician has been open about his admiration for the late King of Pop. Bieber expressed how he wanted to tell a story in his music video for As Long As You Love Me like Jackson did with his music videos. Furthermore, Bieber was quoted last November as wanting to follow Jackson’s timeline by having a fifth album out at around the age of 23, like when Jackson released his fifth studio album, Off the Wall (Jackson was 21).

In addition, who can forget Bieber’s pet monkey, Mally, which brings to mind the famous Bubbles—Jackson’s chimpanzee companion from the 1980s to 2003. Bubbles now lives in an ape facility in Florida and is reportedly living a good life, while the last we heard from Mally is that he was seized by German officials when Bieber tried to bring it into the country in May last year.

Even in his actions, Bieber seems to be somewhat inspired by the late King of Pop.

The point to all this?

Michael Jackson was a child star thrust into the spotlight of mega super stardom, parallel to what Justin Bieber has been experiencing. Bieber’s antics have gotten out of hand—he is clearly trying too hard to be “bad,” and he’s not creating any more “beliebers” with these antics.

In the span of eight months last year, the pop star allegedly kicked the flag of Argentina off the stage at a concert, hung out at a Brazilian brothel for several hours, sped down his gated community with his Ferrari, and spat in the face of a complaining neighbor—on top of various other incidents, including problems with the paparazzi.

Justin Bieber is clearly inspired by Michael Jackson as a musician. Maybe it is time for him to start looking up to Michael Jackson as an individual and how he handled the pressures of fame as he matured into adulthood.

Justin Bieber does not have anywhere near the talent Michael Jackson had at 20, when it comes to dancing, performance, and vocals, and sooner or later his commercial appeal will die off—especially if he continues his recent behavior. If Bieber wants to be remembered throughout the annals of time the way Michael Jackson will surely be remembered, he should begin by acting as a role model to the young fans who “beliebe” in him.

Raymone Bain, Michael Jackson’s manager and spokesperson from 2001–2009, told Max Foster that Justin Bieber is a talented but bored young man who needs to be redirected.

“I think Justin Bieber, frankly, is a bit bored. He’s accomplished a lot, there’s a lot of money involved, he’s able to come and go as he pleases, and I am not sure whether he listens to his management and his team of advisors or if he does not. But what I am suggesting he start doing is channelling that destructive behaviour into something that is more positive so that he can leave a legacy. He’s extremely talented. He’s extremely handsome. He has made a lot of money, and I don’t think he should just rest in his laurels. I think that he needs to be as Michael Jackson. If he wants to emulate Michael he needs to begin to start laying the groundwork as to how he can be a trendsetter.”

She also points out the apparent differences in work ethic between Jackson and Bieber. “Michael Jackson never hung out. Michael Jackson never had a large entourage like that. Michael Jackson never played. I remember in the seven years that I worked for him I suggested we go to a movie and he looked at me as if I were crazy. We went bowling one time when he took the kids. Michael Jackson was about business. He always wanted to be the best. He wanted to be the most successful. He wanted to break the records. He wanted to leave a legacy.”

In the music business, the importance of good management cannot be overemphasised. “I think that his management have done a great job thus far but you know sometimes when you get on the level of Justin Bieber or Michael Jackson it gets a little bit more than one person can handle.”

Jackson was surrounded by a team who supported him, but, as Bain asserts, he also encouraged them to tell him when he was wrong. “There is a misconception. Michael Jackson didn’t like ‘yes-men’. When we would sit at the table with him he would get angry when we did not tell him what we really thought, he really would.”

By now we are all aware that Justin Beiber is really doing the MOST. Not only did he get arrested in Miami for drunk driving / drag racing, he’s been causing havoc and breaking laws in VARIOUS countries. Justin Beiber has been the TOPIC of many conversations recently, both online and offline. I personally spoke about him on my instagram and online radio show, where a few people told me I was dead wrong, because he’s JUST A KID. Well, at 19 my “Just a KID” self already had a baby, was in college, had gotten arrested for doing “Just a KID” things, and learned that I had to grow up.

The issue for me has never been a black / white thing.

Yes, I know that has to factor in, but my issue is RICH vs POOR. When you see people like Chris Brown, Lindsay Lohan and many other RICH people, both black and white, being excused for behaviors a “regular” person would be sentenced to years in jail for, that is MY ISSUE. I am not naive about how the INJUSTICE system works. If you have MONEY you can pay for a better lawyer and that lawyer will work twice as hard, for twice as much, and keep your butt out of jail OR AS a “Public PRETENDER” usually will do what is easier or more convenient due to their massive workload.

When I heard about Justin’s arrest and circumstances, my immediate thought was where is ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). Not because I wish that on anybody, but because I know how quick Florida jails (especially Miami) are to call them on foreign citizens breaking laws. Then I said to myself, “O yea, he’s rich so they must have ‘forgotten’ to make the call.” Today, I woke up and saw that ABC News Miami is reporting that there are THOUSANDS of people that want him deported to Canada.

Are the days of privileged kids getting away with stupidity because they are “misguided” coming to an end? Or is “poor” Beiber out in the cold, because he just happened to be born across the border? I will keep an eye on this, but anyone from DADE or that has IMMIGRANT families in DADE knows that this was just an eye opener to how the rich get MUCH better treatment from authorities. MONEY IS ALL THEY SAY—not black and white, but GREEN!
